Ingredients

1.0 ltr water
150g dark brown sugar
1 teaspoon molasses
1 small cinnamon stick
Aniseeds (optional)
50g dark roasted coffee, medium grind

Preparation:

Place the water, sugar, molasses, cinnamon and aniseeds in a saucepan and bring slowly to the boil. Stir thoroughly until the molasses and sugar have dissolved. When the mixture boils, stir in the dry coffee and steep for 5 minutes. Strain into earthenware mugs and serve immediately.
