10 minutes plus freezing time |
- 3 tbsp ground coffee/medium roast
- 25g sugar
- 900 ml boiling water
- Spoon the coffee and sugar into the base of your La Cafetière
and add 900 ml of just off the boil, boiling water. Leave to
stand
for five minutes, and then plunge.
- Pour the coffee into a jug to cool before chilling in a refrigerator.
- Place the chilled coffee in a shallow dish and put into the
freezer for around 30 minutes or until some ice crystals appear
around the edge.
- Crush the crystals with a fork and return to the freezer. This
process should be repeated 3 or 4 times until you have an even
mixture of fine coffee ice crystals.
- Cover and return the granita to the freezer until required.
- Serve the granita with some of your favourite ice cream and
an amaretti biscuit.
